Happy 1st Birthday Madison!

I cannot believe an entire year has passed already. One year ago today our miracle girl entered the world. 8:33pm on Wed, December 13th. 7lbs 12oz and 20.5 inches Madison Kay Marteney joined our family. She has brought so much joy to our lives.

This year has been challenging, but so rewarding, and exciting all at the same time. Being a mom has been so much more than I could have imagined. It is truely the best job in the world.
We love you Madison! You are such a blessing. Happy Birthday our beautiful girl!

Happy Birthday Sydney!

Madison's best friend Sydney had her first birthday party last weekend. Dara did such a great job. The party was adorable. The girls enjoyed playing with a balloon together. And Sydney even shared a bit of her white chocolate ribbon from her cake. They both turn one this week. This year has gone so fast.

Madison Walking

Madison has started walking. As of today she walked more than crawled. She took her first few steps about 3 weeks ago and has gradually started venturing out more and more from furniture. It is so much fun. She always makes a growling noise when she plops down. She spends alot of her day pulling erveything out of the cupboard in the video. It has her snacks and cups. And her other norm, one sock on. She always pulls just one of them off. :)

There is about a 7sec delay before it starts. Sorry! Enjoy!

Thanksgiving and the Tree

We spent Thanksgiving in 3 places this year. We started out with Matt's family for dinner. Madison had her first taste of turkey seen below. We then went to both sets of my grandparents for dessert. Needless to say we of course ate way to much food. Madison had a great time with all of her extended family. Yesterday we braved the pouring down rain to get our christmas tree. Luckily they had 2 perfect trees(one for Nana and Poppy's house as well) right at the front. We didnt venture out to cut our own this year. It is up but not decorated yet. It should be a fun adventure trying to put up ornaments without little fingers taking them back off again.

11 months

Madison turned 11months on Tuesday. She is now 22lbs and has 5teeth. Madison is keeping us very busy. She is walking around all the furniture in the house and took 6steps on her own Wednesday. As you can see, she is into any drawer and cabinet left unlocked. She empties them multiple times a day. Madison's Best Friend Sydney came to play and stayed for a mini sleep over last week. And Brock came this morning to visit.
We are very excited for the Holidays and Madison's 1st Birthday. It has come so quickly. We can hardly believe our baby girl is almost one.
Watch for video of her walking soon.

1st Halloween

Madison was a Care Bear for her 1st Halloween. We started the day at Mommy to Mommy where all the babies dressed up. It was so much fun. That evening we went to the Harvest Party at our church with Nana and Auntie Haley. Madison loved watching all the kids.

1st Ponytails

We were inspired by Sydney's 1st ponytail last week, so we gave it a try. They make her look so big. :(

Madison & the Junk Mail

I took this video clip this weekend. Madison loves paper and was playing in the junk mail on the floor. I just couldnt resist capturing her adorable laugh. Sorry it is so dark. This was right before bedtime.

Pumpkin Patch

Madison and I enjoyed a fun filled trip to the pumpkin patch today with many of the moms and kids from our Mommy to Mommy class. Madison was quite intrigued by all the pumpkins. She wanted down on the ground so bad!

Madison & Sydney 9months

Dara & I took the girls last week to get pictures together in one of our favorite matching dresses. It took a bit of work to get them to smile at the same time but 2hrs later we had some great pictures. Enjoy!

9Months and crawling!

Madison and Sydney playing- 9months old!

Auntie Haley came to stay with us last weekend. The girls has so much fun together. We went to the park and to Haley's first soccer game where she scored a goal.
Madison is 9months. She is now 20lbs and 28 1/4 inches. This weekend Madison started crawling. She is slowly getting further and further each time and venturing out into the dining room. She also pulled herself up today on her play table. She let go and stood all be herself for a few seconds. She loves to stand and hold on to just one finger. She will also walk across the room holding on to our hands. She will be everywhere before we know it.
Madison got to wear one of her two Ducks Cheerleading outfits this weekend for Game Day! As you can see Daddy is crushed that his little girl is not following in his Beaver ways.
Touch Down!!! Go Ducks! In other news we are selling our house. We have been talking about it for months and finally made the decision. Our house goes on the market tonight. We will be moving into Hillsboro closer to many of our friends and family. We are excited to move and have a shorter drive. If you know anyone looking to move we have a wonderful house and neighborhood. We are sad in a way to be leaving such a great place- Our 1st Home!

8months- Summer Fun!

We have had a very fun summer!

  • We had another ZOO day with friends the Flowerdew's.
  • A trip to Seaside with friends Jason and Nicole where we visited the Astoria Maritime Museum, Fort Stevens, and of course the Promenade in Seaside.
  • We went to Odell Lake camping for Labor Day. This was Madison's 1st trip there. She is the 5th generation to go.
  • And we recently got back from a weekend in Sun River with the Tol's, Dukes', and Chao's. We rented a huge house and had fun with all 6 girls. Yes I said 6. Madison loved swimming in the pool and the bike ride.
Madison started pulling herself up on her excersaucer and mom and dad. She is also on hands and knees now.
