A heart of giving

I am very proud to be a big sister to Haley. She is 9 years old and such a blessing to our family.
I wanted to share what she is doing to help others in this holiday season. She is doing a sock drive for homeless kids. This is a copy of the blog my mom posted. If you feel led to participate please contact her at My Precious Kid.

My daughter Haley (age 9) has been talking about doing a project to help the needy. Her scout group did a project to help kids in 3rd world countries but she wanted to do something to help local kids in need. Then we found out there are 150+ homeless school age children in our city of Hillsboro Oregon.

So she wants to do a SOCK DRIVE. We understand that having new clean dry socks is a gift in the winter months. So we are going to ask friends, family and community to help us collect new socks for kids, teens and adults in need.

If you would like to donate, bring new socks for children, teens, men or women to My Precious Kid in Hillsboro, OR. We are located on the corner of 5th and Baseline across from Hutchins Appliance and Hillsboro Vacuum. We are open from 9 am – 4 pm M-F.

Our local youth group is collecting clean coats (used and new) for the homeless. So if you have coats you want to donate, we can pass them on as well.

Thanks in advanced for helping my daughter learn that it is better to give. And that one person can make a differnce.

This is another story of a young girl reaching out to help others. It is actually a good friend of Haley's from school.

I am so impressed by the giving heart these girls have. I hope to raise my own children to be so caring.

Three sweet faces

Everyone always says how much the boys look like Madison as a baby. I thought it might be fun to do a 6 month comparison. Leave your comments and let me know what you think.

6 months is such a fun stage. Their little personalities are just coming to life. They laugh easily and are starting to actually play. My babies all have gotten chunky during this phase as well. Who can resist sweet round kissable cheeks and chubby baby thighs. Certainly not I!
I love these sweet faces!

On a side note...Mason got his first tooth after my last post. YAY! I am glad that they are finally making an appearance after a long 2 months of teething. Micah's first is not too far behind. I am hoping it will appear soon as well. I will miss their toothless grins though.

Family Photos

6 months

Micah & Mason are now 6 months old. I cannot believe their first year is halfway over. I had better better get going on planning their party. Heehee(grin)!
They are now 16lbs 5oz and 16lbs 8oz. Only a few ounces from Madison at this age. They are still getting up once a night but otherwise good sleepers. They nap 3 times a day still. 10, 1, and 6. This is a very nice thing compared to Madison's nap schedule as an infant.
They are both sitting for very short periods on time now on their own. They have been eating in their boosters at the table, trying a sippy cup, and eating puffs and cheerios. Madison loves helping feed them and stealing their snacks when she can. They are both rolling everywhere as well. Normally only 2 or so full rolls before they are done with the floor. Here are some recent pics.

Thanks Nana for our new friends.

Playing Dress up

I know this post is late but better than not at all. Last month we took Madison to Disney on Ice Worlds of Fantasy with some friends. Nana & Poppi watched the boys for the night. The show was Cars, Lion King, Little Mermaid, and Tinkerbell (Madison's favorite). Madison dressed up in her new Cinderella costume (Christmas gift pulled out early) and was so excited. She has been talking about it ever since. She sat wide eyed watching everything. It was so fun to spend the evening paying total attention to her. We all had a blast.

On the way to the show.

Seeing the REAL Cinderella.
Madison is right in front.

Do you see the smile?

Pure excitement.

And of course Tinkerbell

Here is a video of the finale Tinkerbell dance. Excuse the bad camera work. I had a little girl in my lap. You can here her talking at the end. So cute!

The following weekend was Halloween. Madison had been sick a few days prior but had been healthy for almost 36hrs. I was so glad she didn't have to miss out. Unfortunately I was sick and home with the boys. Matt got to take Madison to church and then to visit family and friends. Thank goodness for cameras so I didn't have to miss the whole experience. I dressed the boys up long enough to get a few cute pictures. Madison had a great time collecting way to much candy as Minnie Mouse.

2 days later Madison ended up sick again. After 2weeks of everyone but Matt being ill we are finally all healthy. And back to blogging. :)
Watch for more coming.
